Launching new eCommerce products using Agile

THE CHALLENGE

With eCommerce becoming ever more prevalent in Hong Kong, Practicus was asked to help this insurance provider build and launch a range of B2C, B2B and B2B2C products online.

THE ENGAGEMENT

Practicus’ team of Product Owners, Business Analysts and SMEs delivered a key General Insurance product for the Hong Kong market. Products were launched in a complex technical environment, which required integration with legacy systems, working with multiple teams, vendors and adhering to compliance requirements. The team adapted the organisation’s formal gating processes while securing key executive buy-in for delivering through Agile and Scrum methodologies.

THE OUTCOME

Development costs were reduced by 80% and delivery times by 50% using Agile. In fact, the product launch was achieved in aggressive timescales of just 6 months. As a result, the Agile approach has been adopted successfully for multiple digital initiatives within the organisation.
