Interim Primary Care Project Manager
A federation of NHS General Practices wanted to streamline its day-to-day operations across all 25 of its GP practices and improve the overall patient experience. They needed a project manager with strong primary care expertise to work closely with their Practice Managers.
To improve processes, a Practicus interim:
- Achieved whole system working by establishing close collaboration with clinicians at the hospitals and improving the management of patient referrals.
- Digitised the patient experience by overseeing a self-service booking system on arrival.
- Eliminated cover gaps around admin and clinical staff with a substantial recruitment drive.
Significant improvements in the patient experience have been achieved and a much more efficient operation is in place. While it is too soon to measure the precise impact, this federation of GPs has renewed confidence in its ability to deliver leading healthcare services in partnership with local hospitals and other care providers.
