Standardising ways of working globally through PPM tool implementation

THE CHALLENGE

With offices in 11 countries across APAC, this insurance firm wanted to standardise processes and introduce rigour in Portfolio and Project Management. Practicus was asked to manage the change associated with implementation of a PPM tool to achieve this aim. The tool would allow the company to integrate its strategy, plans and execution such that resources focus on the right activities. The tool also provides a single source of truth, standardised processes and consistent reporting.

THE ENGAGEMENT

Practicus was responsible for managing the full change journey from strategy and communications to benefits realisation. This involved developing and managing a network of Change Champions to drive new behaviours in each country through a series of change initiatives such as regular change meetings, FAQ&A factsheets, banners, posters, Lunch and Learn sessions and an ongoing support plan. Practicus also adopted a Train the Trainer approach to facilitate widespread training and adoption of the tool itself.

THE OUTCOME

Early indications show the Change Management support provided by Practicus has led to high levels of adoption with the tool and increased consistency in Project Management across the countries. Training has been particularly successful, achieving 4.3/5 evaluation scores from staff.
