Addressing business readiness
When a building society needed assistance preparing its organisation for changes to come, Practicus was engaged to ensure Business Readiness had been effectively addressed.
The building society was planning to implement a new mortgage system to improve and automate the way mortgages were provided. It would bring changes throughout the business, as it had previously adopted a manual approach.
Practicus was engaged to make sure that the upgrade could be implemented and embedded smoothly by defining the acceptance criteria across the business.
Practicus first undertook an impact assessment and a risk assessment to evaluate the company’s readiness for the impending change. This initial four-week engagement led to immediate recommendations that were then implemented.
We created a Project Readiness Steering Committee, with whom we met regularly to discuss project readiness. By working closely with the client and secondary parties, we focused on building up the capability of all departments, communicating effectively the ways in which the change would impact them.
The building society was able to take our recommendations and implement them to ensure that everything was in place for a successful delivery. Departments felt better supported and equipped to deal with the change and understood fully how the new model would affect and benefit them.
